The Dallas Stars traded crappy left wing Valery Kamensky to the NJ Devils in exchange for defenseman Andre Lakos and future considerations. The Boston Bruins signed defenseman Gord Murphy to a tryout contract. The Florida Panthers claimed right wing Pierre Dagenais off waivers from the NJ Devils (the same Dagenais who was supposed to step in and take Mogilny's place as the Devils big scoerer). The Capitals signed Colin Forbes as a free agent. The Penguins claimed Randy Robitaille off waivers.
