Reekin in the Windy City The Blackhawks acquired old man Joe Reekie from the Caps yesterday, in exchange for a draft pick.

NHL No-Star Game: Here are the All-Star game rosters.
No hockey and no beer make Homer somthing something: Sault St. Marie is just plain silly. Can you believe that the arena in this piddly Ontario town doesn't serve alcohol?! But as the National Post reports today, that may soon change. Thank heavens.

Player movements: The Carolina Hurricanes traded defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh and top minor league prospect Byron Ritchie to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday for defenseman Bret Hedican, center Kevyn Adams and minor league prospect Tomas Malec.

Former Penguin Kip Miller has been rescued from AHL obscurity and signed for the remainder of the season by the NY Islanders. Penguins center Wayne Primeau has had surgery and is done for the year. The Dallas Stars traded crappy left wing Valery Kamensky to the NJ Devils in exchange for defenseman Andre Lakos and future considerations. The Boston Bruins signed defenseman Gord Murphy to a tryout contract. The Florida Panthers claimed right wing Pierre Dagenais off waivers from the NJ Devils (the same Dagenais who was supposed to step in and take Mogilny's place as the Devils big scoerer). The Capitals signed Colin Forbes as a free agent. The Penguins claimed Randy Robitaille off waivers.

Minnesota Ball games: Web activist site Save the Minnesota Twins.com claims to be "dedicated to keeping the Twins in Minnesota by raising public awareness about their need for a new stadium. Throughout this site you will find information about why the Twins need a new ballpark, why they deserve it and how you can help."

Hmm... though the site claims to have no affiliation "with the Minnesota Twins or Major League Baseball," I am deeply skeptical...
